Day 3 ended on a happy note by driving to the ski area in Breckenridge and riding the 9 mile, mostly downhill, Peaks trail back to our base at Frisco. On the way, we stopped at this peaceful lake created by a beaver dam (right). On our club rides at home, when we have lingered at a rest stop long enough, Heinz, a.k.a. the General, calls out, "Let's not make this our home." As we sat munching on homemade cookies, and Ed looked for trout swimming in the lake, Stan said, "Anna, get out your cell and call Heinz. Tell him we're making this our home."

In Frisco, we locked our bikes to a rack and drove a second car back to Breckenridge to pick up Ed's Suburban. Stan suggested we take the southern route back to Colorado Springs to pick up Donna, instead of going back to Frisco to drive Interstate 70 as planned. Everyone was in agreement until one of us realized the bikes were still on the rack in Frisco.
