Flatlander, Katie Goggin, got sucked into the Leakey Death Ride by her friend, Paul Ford. Katie is a medical student at UT Medical Branch in Galveston. Friday, despite her obvious intelligence, she followed the group up the hill for the Lost Maples add on. That gave her 65 miles for the day and 220 miles for the weekend. Saturday was her first century. Katie completed completed every climb of the weekend. And, her smile never faded. (Photo by Mona Ford) |
