Snow has been a surprising theme of our Grand Canyon trip. Saturday morning we left Wichita Falls after spending the night on the Walmart parking lot in our RV. There was a light snow storm going with raging winds. One of the first overpasses we came to had an RV on its side, having slid off the icy bridge onto the downhill slope. It was one of the most exciting mornings I've spent behind the wheel. The 25 mph wind was coming at us from the NW which was a head wind from the right. Several times during the morning a train was on the tracks paralleling the highway. It set up some waves of wind that made our ride in the RV rival any amusement park ride I've been on.

The picture is of the wheel cover with its centrifically formed icicles. - Photo by Stan Ford (taken with Palm Pre phone)
