Monday, July 27, 2009, Day 3 - This morning we were so tired we didn't want to leave the apt.
After lunch we took off without the benefit of a plan.

First stop was B & H Photo, the biggest camera store in the country. It was quite a marvel. I bought a Gorilla Legs tripod with flexible legs. Mona had to lead me out with my eyes closed or I'd still be there.

We went back to Penn station and parked at Starbucks for a large Passion tea & a Strawberry Banana Vivanno smoothie to try and get some energy going and to come up with a plan. The decision was made to ride the Staten Island Ferry again mainly to just sit in air conditioning and enjoy the free ride.

After getting to the ferry station we hung out for a while then opted not to do a repeat. Instead we went to Ground Zero which is just a big construction area with lots of tourists walking around the perimeter. We wandered some more and decided it was supper time.

The Italian food was so good last night we went back. We should have gone to the same restaurant. Instead we went to one where a guy was trying to talk us in. The food wasn't as good and the guy kept trying to persuade others to come in. He drove me a little nuts, but the couple next to us found him ridiculous enough to be entertaining. We ended up visiting with them for quite a while. Afterward Mona did some shopping while I tried out the new tripod.
